The New Deal for Communities (NDC) project is one of the key elements in the Government’s National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal. This strategy aims to tackle social exclusion by narrowing the gap between the poorest neighbourhoods and the rest of the country.

Sports, Culture and Leisure Village

We are pleased to be able to tell you that the Planning Application for the Heywood Sports, Culture and Leisure Village was approved by Heywood Township Planning Sub-Committee on Tuesday 19th February.
 
This now allows us to make applications for external funding, which will be submitted in the next few days to the Football Foundation and Sport England.  For the Sport England bid, we have been invited this week to make a Stage 2 application, having submitted a Stage 1 application earlier in the year.
 
We will continue to keep you in touch with the development of this exciting project.
