Annual Report 2007/08  

Welcome to the Heart of Heywood! Last year significant progress was made in a number of areas ... Planning permissions were approved for the Health Connections and Joint Service Centre and the Heywood Sports, Culture and Leisure Village, for which building work will start in 2008/9 to provide a catalyst for changing how local services are delivered in Heywood. These have developed following strong partnership work with the Council, the Primary Care Trust and Link 4 Life in particular. We commissioned a £1.2 million Skills Ladder Project with a target to engage 450 residents in learning and identify priorities for service change over 3 years. Heywood’s Young People Partnership is now leading a strategic change agenda to improve provision for young people and engage them in the community ...

2005/06 Annual Report  

2005/06 saw the mid way point of the ten year New Deal for Communities regeneration programme to bring back the Heart of Heywood. We're now steering a course towards bigger and better achievements. As we move on from the halfway point, we've got fresh confidence, a track record of delivering and a new bright vision for Heywood.

2004/05 Annual Report  

This report sets out the key actions and achievements of year 4 of New Heart for Heywood's life.

Over the last 4 years, New Heart for Heywood NDC has engaged in a great deal of activity. We have supported some excellent projects and interventions as well as funded some very popular local projects. Over this last year we have engaged in a process of self critical challenge and review. This has led the partnership to the conclusion that we were not delivering long-term sustainable change, a legacy for Heywood, which is the ambition and aspiration of all members of the Partnership Board and of the local people of Heywood ...

2003/04 Annual Report

Year 3 of New Heart for Heywood was easily the most important year of our life as an NDC so far. Much of the success in the last year has involved removing barriers, which we had identified as holding us back. In the words of the current Partnership Chair, David Rothwell "We have been putting pieces of the jigsaw together". Stuart Evason, the former Chair of the Board, up to early December 2003, has said that he feels that, looking objectively from a distance now, "The Improvement Plan has led to significant improvements over the year" ...
