GP surgery set to open its doors to new patients >>
Heywood’s new GP surgery is set to open on 1st December, as part of NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale’s £18 million investment to bring more doctors to the borough.
The Birtle View Medical Practice is located on George Street on the site which was formerly Birtle View School. Services will be provided by Oldham-based GTD Primary Care, which also provides GP services in Manchester, Oldham, Tameside and Glossop.
A spokesperson said: “GTD Primary Care aims to provide high quality, patient-centred care by putting patients and their families at the centre of all we do, working in partnership with the local community. We deliver evidence-based care to agreed standards of excellence focus on delivering a seamless patient journey and develop innovative solutions to improve services.”
The GP practice will have four new doctors and be open from 8:00am every weekday until 6:30pm or 7pm, plus between 9am and 12pm on a Saturday. Patients will be able to register from 1st December by visiting the practice.
It will offer core GP services as well as a programme of additional services including Cardiovascular Risk Registers, diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and diabetes, stop smoking service, weight management service, and Choose and Book.
