Work on the new Heywood Sports, Culture & Leisure Village
Started on Monday 15th June.

To ensure smooth running of the project from the outset, all visitors to the Sports Complex are advised that direct access between the Gaskell Swimming Pool and the Jack Talbot Sports Hall will be restricted from 15 June to allow enabling works to be progressed.

Access will be via the pavement on West Starkey Street and not directly across the car park.

Heywood Neighbourhood Policing Team is working hard to address the issues affecting your community and to reduce crime in our town.

Regular surgeries, PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meetings and forums with the community have helped us identify burglary, anti-social behaviour, youths causing annoyance, drug dealing and off road bikes as key areas to target as these are having a negative impact on Heywood residents.

As a team we are continuing to work with our partner agencies such as Rochdale Borough Council, Rochdale Borough wide Housing, GMPTE and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. Together we are working to make Heywood a safer place.

The landscape of Heywood could change dramatically with the introduction of a joint partnership plan called Sustainable Urban Neighbourhoods, or SUN for short.

The plans set out ideas to change several areas of Heywood to encourage growth, as well as improving employment and leisure prospects, along with the environment for the town, over the next 10 to 15 years ...
