Heywood Sports, Culture and Leisure Village - Building Progress > >

Work started on the new £10.3 million Heywood Sports, Culture and Leisure Village in June 2009.

The decision was made to build a completely new purpose-built centre instead of 'enveloping' the existing Jack Talbot Sports Hall. This new building will be located on a site behind the existing Gaskell Pool.

The existing pool and sports hall will remain open during the construction period and this will help to minimise disruption to Heywood Sports Complex's existing customers.
