Furthering its support for local businesses, New Heart for Heywood has granted bursaries to several local firms since 2007. For businesses that have just started, or are about to start, the criteria to be met needed the business to be situated or the proprietor to be a resident in the NDC area. Administered by the Business Advisers from Bolton Business Ventures the bursaries are worth up to £1,000 which is paid to them in stages. Here we detail just some of the local recipients who have so far benefited from the scheme. The Business Centre Advisers can be contacted on (01706) 362270.

The criteria have recently been revised and now targets proprietors coming off benefits. New Heart for Heywood Resident Director, Malcolm Bruce said. “We are pleased to be able to help these local businesses and give them a step up on what is, I hope, the ladder to success. I am sure they will all benefit from the help and advice they have been given and can look to a successful future.”
