Heywood’s town centre is one of New Heart for Heywood’s greatest assets and we want to support it to survive and thrive as the economy changes. The theme’s projects aim to improve economic performance and benefit local people. This includes action on sites and premises in Heywood town centre, on enterprise and business support, and on access to jobs. The intention is for Heywood to move forward and develop as a high quality centre serving the local community. We have aimed to improve everyone’s standard of living by helping to create an enterprising economy in three main areas:
- A thriving town centre with improved public space and better shopping and leisure facilities
- Access to the town centre and to local employment sites to enable people to get to work affordably and conveniently
- Supporting local businesses to start up and to grow |
